Description of Site Characterization
For impacted sites that are subjected to the corrective action process, Storb Environmental can provide site characterization for all media of concern. Following site characterization, Storb Environmental can complete and submit a site characterization report that fulfills all applicable federal, state, and local requirements. As part of all site characterization activities soil, groundwater, and other effected media are addressed. Storb Environmental personnel are experienced in collecting soil and sediment samples using such techniques as hollow-stem auger and air rotary drilling, direct-push geoprobe, and hand auger. Storb Environmental has the equipment to collect groundwater samples using a variety of techniques such as direct purge and low-flow sampling. Storb Environmental can also provide geophysical services, including ground penetrating radar, magnetometry, gravity, seismic refraction, seismic reflection, electromagnetic, and electrical resistivity to name a few. In addition, sensitive and ecological receptors are surveyed and evaluated to address potential impacts from the site as required under applicable federal and state regulations. Storb Environmental is also experienced in evaluating vapor intrusion issues, including sampling, pathway evaluation, risk assessment, and screening.
